1995 “Saturday Evening Mostly Country Music Show”

WBKE 89.5 FM, N MANCHESTER IN

Show Information

Fall 1995 is when I began diligently keeping a playlist, because many people, who’d been unable to listen to the show, kept asking me what I’d played. So, I jotted down the songs &, a day or so after each show, Emailed the playlist to those interested.

OUTLINE

BEGINNING REMARKS:
From studios high atop the Communications Building on the Manchester College campus, it’s time for the Saturday Evening Mostly Country Music Show. I’m your host, Cort Stevens.
The theme is a “song remembers when” & I hope the songs you’ll hear over the next 3 hours will bring back some memories for you even if the whole world has forgotten.
8-9 pm is the double play hour.
at 10p, we’ll have tonight’s JDS saying. Tonight’s key words:
[Added for the spring 1996 term] You can also hear me Mondays & Fridays on “CD Showcase”, 12p-1p.
& now, let’s kick off the 1st 6 pack of the night with…..

ENDING REMARKS:
[after closing song, played with ~4 minutes left]
That, of course, was Andy & Terry Murray with the National Youth Conference 1990 theme, “Treasures For The Road”. Thank you for listening tonight; I hope you tune in to the Saturday Evening Mostly Country Music Show again next week from 7 to 10 because you never know just what you might hear! Until next time, this is Cort Stevens with another JDS original saying:
& now, here’s {show name & host} taking you to midnight. Good night & have a great week everybody!

{note: While I remained the full 3 years (Fall 1993 to Spring 1996), the 10p-midnight slot had at least 3 different shows during that time.}
